Guide · Build from your own material

Turn your own documents into an interactive lesson

When the lesson has to follow your material — course notes, a reading list, a dataset — attach it and OpenMAIC builds the classroom from that source first. This guide covers what you can upload, how much, and how to get a faithful result.

Build from your documents

In short

  • Attach up to 5 plain-text, Markdown, CSV or JSON files.
  • Material is limited to 40,000 characters in total.
  • OpenMAIC uses your material first, then fills gaps for the audience you describe.
  • Classrooms are tied to your account and are not published.

What to upload

Text-based formats work best because the agents can read them directly.

  • Plain text or Markdown notes, outlines and reading summaries.
  • CSV tables, for lessons built around data.
  • JSON, for structured content such as glossaries or question banks.

Prepare the material

Trim what the lesson does not need. Put headings in your notes so the outline can follow your structure, and include the definitions you want used verbatim. If a dataset is large, keep the columns the lesson discusses.

Write a brief that points at the material

Example brief with attachments
Build a full lesson for first-year nursing students from the attached notes on fluid balance. Follow the section order in the notes, quiz each section, and end with a case-study project.

Privacy

Your topics, files and generated classrooms are tied to your account and are not published. Do not upload confidential material you are not allowed to process.
